The Suffering From OBS
Well I Was In Group Suisen. The Group Consist Of Azfar, Aza, Xinyu, Kenneth, Haziq, Velle, Valerie[Fajar], Fransisca, Roy, Steph, Hannah, Zhi Wei, Valerie[Zhenghua], Li si And Suhaila. Not Forgetting Our Group Instructor, Tracy. A Very Good Instructor Indeed Since She Save Our Live[Description Below]. This Group Was So Hype From The Start. We've Bonded So Much Just From Playing Ice-Breakers.So I Can Say I Really Love This Group.
Learn Basics Of Belaying And Also We Played 'Trust-Fall'. We Actually Have To Stand At A Certain Height Then Fall Backwards To A Mat Which Is Being Hold By Our Group Members. One By One We Were Nervous But We All Cheered/Support For Each Other. Its Was Really Scary. Cause Its Like If You're The Person Falling ,You're Like Putting Your Life On Those People Holding The Mat. And If You're The Person Holding The Mat Then Its Like Your Responsibility To Save The Life Of The Person Falling. Gosh No Wonder Its Call 'Trust-Fall'. It Was Fun Anyway, Since It Was My First Time Doing It.
Believe It Or Not, We Have To Sleep In Tents, For All The 4 Nights. Even If Its Raining Heavily/Lightning Die Die Must Sleep At The Tent Since Our Camp Is A Mobile Camp. We Constantly Move From One Campsite To Another. So We Will Be In A New Campsite Each Day. We Also Had To Cook Our Own Food. It Was A Great Experience For Me To Actually Cook Rice By My Own. This Whole Experience Is Like You're From A Very Rich Family Then They Throw To A Forest And You Have To Survive On Your Own. Our Instructor Was There Only To Ensure Our Safety, That's All. The Rest, We Figure Out Ourself. How Challenging.
There Was Also High Elements And Seriously, I Wasn't Looking Forward To It Since Its Rock Climbing. I Really Suck At Rock Climbing And Also I'm Afraid Of Highs. Luckily I Wasn't The Only One In My Group Which Are Afraid Of Highs. But The Thing Is Most Of My Group-mates Manage To Reach To The Top. Went It Was My Turn, I Was Literally Nervous And Damn Scared. My Group Was Like So Tense When I Went Up. They Were Like 'Syafiq Put Your Leg There' 'To The Left' 'Don't Give up' Etc And I Was Like, ' Can I Go Down Already ?'. Seriously. With Their Support I Really Wanted To Persevere To The Top But I Was Completely Exhausted. I Only Manage To Reach Till The 6th Tiles While My Other Group mates Mange To Reach Till Like 10-12[Highest]. Thanks Alot Guys :D
We Also Had This Thing Call Sea Expedition. Its Where We Are Suppose To Kayak To Certain Area Then Go Back To Our Campsite With A Time Limit.It Was Really Tiring Since We Had To Kayak The Whole Day. Not Really The Whole Day, About 8 Hours. I Seriously Feel Like Drowning Myself In The Middle Of The Sea Since My Arms Were Killing Me. Anyway, I Was Kayaking With Valerie[Fajar], 2 per Kayak. Before We Set Off We Had To Do A Capsize Drill. Valerie Was Afraid Of Doing It And Because Of That, I Became Nervous.Lols. So We Completed It Anyway And I Find Rather Fun.Gosh, The Salt Water Burn My Eyes ! And The Taste ? Don't Get Me Started.Yucks.We Were Kayaking Halfway When Suddenly The Rain Became Heavier And There Was A Lightning Alert.So We Where Force To Stop At A Nearby Shore Located A Pulau Ketam. After The Rain Settle Down We Head Back To Our Campsite.To Me The Most Terrifying Thing About The Whole Sea Expedition Thinggy Is That We Actually Have To Kayak In A Sea Full Of Big Ships. Like Wow !
Land Expedition, The Worst Part Of The Camp. Picture This, Each One Of Us Carrying A 15 Kg Backpack[Provided By Obs], Which Contain Our Cooking Stuff, Our Tents, Our Personnel Items And Etc, Walking Around Ubin Which Is Like 7-20km Long For The Whole Day. Whatthecrap ! It Was Life Threatening. Another Thing Is That Our Instructor Showed Us The Designated Places We Have To Go In The Map Then She Shut Up. We Actually Have To Navigate Ourself Around That Island And If We Get Lost, Then We're Doom. Sadly, My Group Got Lost And We Where The Only Group That Got Lost.So Suay. It Happen Like This, We Where At Our Last Checkpoint, A Hill[I Forgot The Name].We Manage To Get Up To The Top In Like 15 Mins But ! We Got Lost On Our Way Down.We Were Like Walking Up And Down And Around The Hill In Circles With Our 15kg Backpack, Aimlessly. I Can Die Man. We Were Lost For Like 2hrs. I Was Really Freak Out, As In Panic. Negative Thoughts Run Through My Mind At That Point Of Time. Then Our Instructor, Like Finally, Lead Us To Our Way Out. Saved ! *Sighs*.After The Whole Thing We Mange To Make It Back To Campsite 1 Around 7pm. When We Step Our Foot At Campsite 1 All Of Us Were Like As If We Just Won A Olympic Gold Medal Or Something. Lols.We Were Like So Happy. I Was Really Shocked That I Manage To Push Myself To Where I Never Thought I Could Be. This Whole Land Expedition Has Really Thought Me Alot.
Got To Find Out From Our Instructor, Tracy, That We Were The Only Group That Bath For All The 5 Days. While Some Other Group Only Bath For Like 4 Or 3 Days Only. There Is Also This Time When We Were Cooking Our Food And There Was A Storm Cloud, Right Infront Of Us.We Were Like Panicking.We All Hurriedly Carry Our Food To Our Tents. The Storm Cloud Was Headind Towards Us. The Expression Of Us Was Like As If A Foreign Country Is Coming To Our Campsite To Rage War. Gosh. After The Whole 'Experience' We Were In Our Tents And Our Tent Wasn't 100% Water Proof.Due To The Storm It Was Drenched.The Tent That I Was In Can Become Like A Mini Swimming Pool.Lols.Oh And Our Group Was Like The Noises Group In The Campsite [FYI We Were In Another Campsite And There Were Other Groups As Well].Xinyu Started Calling Out My Name For Nothing Most Of Time.And Azfar Created This 'Cheer' Which Goes Like This;
'[azfar Shout]What Team ?!'
'[Group-mates Shout]Syafiq !'
'[Azfar Shout]X-i-n-y-u Gay !'
'[Group-mates Shout] Xinyu Gay !'
And I Thought Our Group Name Was Suisen. The Funny Thing Is That Whenever Xinyu Says My Name ,The Whole Group Will Be Echo Him.WOW. Because Of Him, I Was Well-Known In The Group.Lols.We Also Played Concentration And Etc Just To Kill Time.And Gosh, The Lightning Was Really Scary. Had A Very Harsh Night
Last Day We Had Our Very Last Activity, Jetty Jump.At First I Was Reall Nervous, But It Was Seriously Fun To Do. Some Of My Group-mates Where Scared So We Cheered/Support For Them. Hannah Took The Longest The Time To Jump Down, Well Whose To Blame ? Its Was Kinda Scary Since We Have To Stand On A Plank Then Jump. All Of Us Where Encouraging Her.In The End She Finally Jump. But Yeah Its Her Like 5-6 Mins While The Rest Only Took A Few Seconds.
Then We Bid Goodbye To Our Friends That Were Made There And Yeah Off We Go Back To Singapore. Sad Moment.
This Camp Has Really Teach Me Alot Of Values.But I've Learn The Most Importing Thing, Its Not About Wether We Can Or Cannot, It Wether We Want Or Don't Want.
